8 Useful Google Search Features

The most used search engine Google not only searches for your queries but also has many things with it to meet your daily need's. Some of the productive tools it provides embedded in the Google Search are given below. The way of using those tools is also explained clearly.
#1 Weather:
Using the weather tool we can find out weather at different places in the world.To use this type the syntax like this
"Weather(space)City name/Zip code of the city"


#2 Time:
Using the Time tool we can get the current time of any place on the globe.To use this type the syntax like this
"Time(space)City name"

 #3 Calculator:
Using the Calculator tool seems to be the same as the normal calculator.Type the expression to be solved directly in the search bar.There is no syntax for this.


#4 Unit Conversion:
You can convert different units into other using the Google Search Engine.To do this you just follow the below syntax.

#5 Dictionary:
To use the Dictionary tool just type the word after the keyword "define" to get the meaning, synonyms, pronunciation etc,.

#6 Currency Conversion:
This is used to convert currencies from one to the other. This can be used by using the following syntax.
"number(space)currency to be converted(space)currency to which it is to be converted"


#7 Graph:
You can even get the graphs of any complicated function within seconds using the Google Graphing Calculator tool.This tool is really faster and proves to be a great Google Search Engine Feature.To use this just type the function in the search bar to get the graph immediately.

ex. sqrt(cos(x))*cos(300x)+sqrt(abs(x))-0.7)*(4-x*x)^0.01, sqrt(6-x^2), -sqrt(6-x^2) from -4.5 to 4.5

#8 Public Data:
To get public data information like population, unemployment or any other social analytics of any country you can use this tool.This can be used by following the below syntax.

Ever used Google to Find Interests of People of Different Countries

The most interesting and time saving feature Google Instant / Suggestions of Google Search can also be used to find the interests/attitude of people of Different Countries regarding a particular thing or issue. Though the Suggestions may vary at different instances according to the Google Suggest coding we can spot some suggestions constantly.

 Now coming to the work, switching between different countries can be done by using google website of different countries. Here I'm going to explain the process by taking some examples.

 Firstly, let us take Facebook as a Testing keyword and find in what way people of different countries are interested in Facebook. Comparing suggestions of Google India, UK, Korea we can say

  • Indians are interested in Facebook status, login page and checking Facebook Profiles etc.,
  • UK people are interested in using facebook from mobile and using chat emoticans.
  • Koreans are interested in the Application Programming Interface(API) used to develop apps for Facebook and they are also interested to check Facebook Profiles too..

In the same manner we can also find out the views of people of a country about other countries. For instance if we take Google Indian and UK version's and find views about Iran and Pakistan the resulting suggestions might be like this.(The results are captured on  29th March 2012).

How to turn off Digital Calculators that don't carry an OFF Button

  3. Percentage Function Button (%)................................................. once
  4. Check Function (Forward Check works the most).................. once
  5. Correct/Delete Function................................................................ twice

Thus we can turnoff most of the Digital Calculators of many Brands within seconds following the above trick.

Google Art Project : Now Stable along with New Collections

Google Art Project, the online Platform where public can access high resolution images (about 1 billion pixels using Gigapixel Image Technology) of the artworks in the museums around the world who had partnership agreements with Google. This way Google is trying to preserve the artworks and also make them public.

Google Art Project uses the Google Street View Technology to provide a "walk-through" experience of the Museums. It being launched on February 1, 2011 the Stable version of the project is released on April 3, 2012. The artworks are also categorized on the basis of both "Collections" and "Artists". To the new version of the Google Art Project website they also added option to use your Google+ account.

The project also tried to visualize many Featured Collections like the White House of USA, Archaeological Collections of the Museum of Cycladic Art etc., and made them available for Public Viewing.

Finally Blogger is Featured with meta-tags

Finally Blogger adds the option to add meta-tags in there Blogs as in Wordpress. It is provided in the name "Search Preferences" for the Blog and "Search Description" for each Post.They are also providing the option to add "TITLE" and "ALT" tags to the images on the blog easily as in Wordpress Blogs. This will surely help to elevate the SEO of the Blogger Blogs. In This post let us see how to add the meta-tags using the new features.


Blogger with meta-tags
1. For the Blog
To use this feature goto Settings>Search Preferences in New Blogger Layout. Here we can add Blog Description which will be shown as the description of the Blog in Search Results.




2. For the Posts
To use this feature goto Posts and select the post to which you want to add the description. In the Post Settings to the right side goto "Search Description" and add the Description of the Post.




3. For the Images
To use this feature just click on the Image you want to add the "TITLE" and "ALT" tags and then click on the Properties in the shown options. You can add the tags in the given dialog box.


Blogger also added some more Features like Custom Page not Found, Custom Redirects and also made possible to edit the robots.txt file on your blog itself. Just enable and edit these features and elevate yours blog's SEO which will help to increase your Blog's Traffic from Search Engines.
